While I was working on developing the branding for Birds Barbershop in 2005, I was also asked to create and execute the mural for their space. I had a wall, a blank canvas, measuring 40 feet wide by 10 feet tall. Since this mural was going to be the main introduction to Birds for people, the inspiration for the imagery came right from the Birds brand – a modern, rock’n roll take on the Barbershop. To make this project even more challenging, the final art was screenprinted directly onto the surface. This is not easy. There are a total of 140 screens used, installed over 10 booze-fueled late spring nights with two friends and a lift.
